Mainstream media has failed at keeping the people informed on the news that matters. Here are some excellent media outlets you can trust for important, fact-based news coverage.
The Hill: "Rising" with Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti
One of the best political talk shows, and most definitely one of the most informative. Great for keeping up with current events. Krystal is on the left, and Saagar the right, and both are equally critical of both parties. It's refreshing to see a bipartisan news segment where both sides can see their views represented in non-toxic conversations.
Subscribe to The Hill on YouTube, and check out Krystal and Saagar on Twitter! Click here to watch their Joe Rogan interview.

One of the best leftist media sites out there; they are excellent at breaking down the fundamental economic principles of capitalism. While all of their segments are exemplary, D@W is best known for their show "Economic Update" with Richard D. Wolff. Wolff is Professor Emeritus of Economics at UMass
Amherst and is currently a Visiting Professor in the New School University in New York. Give Democracy at Work a follow/subscribe across social media platforms; they are all linked on their website.

Like Al-Jazeera, Telesur is not independent - it's owned by the Venezuelan government - it is chock-full of great journalism and is the leading alternative Latin American media outlet. Obviously take their stories with a grain of salt - again, they are not independently funded - but they are worth your time anyhow. They're worth a follow on Instagram and Twitter as well.
While more comedic journalism, creator Andrew Callaghan doesn't get enough credit for interviewing different groups of Americans and showing different facets of our culture, both the good and the bad. His coverage of the Minneapolis riots is exemplary.
